You should be able to laugh at yourself and not treat your own opinion as the last word. At work, it also helps to remember that you are replaceable—the company will probably survive Monday without you. Trump, Putin, and Xi, by contrast, seem to regard themselves as infallible; there is probably no helping them anymore. The rest of us do not have to fall into the same trap. That does not mean making yourself small or letting others push you aside: you can stand your ground without believing you are the center of the world.
